VPRS 3629 Resources Surveys

In its report of December 1944, the State Regional Boundaries Committee (VA 4154) had determined that to facilitate the investigation of resources and the planning of future development, the State be divided into thirteen regions. One of the primary tasks of the Central Planning Authority and the Regional Committees set up under its auspices was to survey and report upon the resources of each of these thirteen regions. The Regions themselves were aggregations of municipal districts with their boundaries following existing municipal areas.Each report had three main sections, describing the Physical Resources (e.g. Climate), Economic Resources and the Services and Utilities of the region. The written report is accompanied by detailed maps.
