Этимологическое родство слова «leg» в английском и «лягать» в русском языке: Исследование общих индоевропейских корней

This article explores the etymological kinship between the English/Scottish word <b>leg</b> (нога, "leg") and the Russian-Slavic dialectal variants of the word <b>лягать/легать/лигать</b> (to kick with a leg). By analyzing linguistic sources, including Old Norse and Proto-Germanic, as well as hypothetical Proto-Indo-European roots, we conclude that these lexical units may share a common origin from a root associated with the concept of "bending" or "curvature." This research sheds light on the remarkable unity within the diversity of Indo-European languages.
