Environmental DNA: Biomarker of Soil Quality in Vojvodina

The research aims to characterize the soil microbiome of 3 soil types in Vojvodina (chernozem, solonchak, and vertisol) using the 16S rRNA metabarcoding method for the first time. The general objective of the Project is the development and implementation of a new type of soil biomarker to preserve biodiversity and soil fertility in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in order to promote the sustainable use of soil as a strategic resource and the adaptation of soil to climate change.
