Surveys and Interviews on Workforce Development Needs

To gain a better understanding of the existing training or professional development needs within Region 10 (i.e., Idaho, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington), Pactrans and researchers from Oregon State University and University of Idaho collaborated to design and implement a workforce development study. This study would contain two major components: interviews with local transportation offices and the development and distribution of an online survey. The data file includes the empirical approaches used to conduct interviews and develop the survey; the findings from our data collection efforts; and a discussion of major themes that emerged from a descriptive analysis of workforce development needs.
