Abell 868 - The best studied cluster with the HST

We propose to obtain a short XMM observation of a cluster of galaxies thatis scheduled to be imaged in great deal with the Hubble Space Telescope.The HST observations will allow galaxies over an unprecendentedly largemagnitude range to be studied. XMM observations will permit us to makea detailed comparison of the distribution of cluster members of differenttypes to the intracluster medium.
