Distance-based Sample of Bird Sightings

In a grassland with an open area, and a woodlot with trees growing in close proximity to each other, five transects were laid out in each habitat type - totalling ten transects altogether. The transects were measured using Nimmy Gajendran's paces or steps. The lengths of the transects, number of birds spotted, bird species, distance of the bird(s) away from the transect, and wind speed were recorded. The linear distance of the bird(s) from the transect was estimated by myself. The number of birds spotted was counted, and bird species categorized, by all group members (Nimmy Gajendran, Patrice Chow, Tyra Sequeira, and myself) in a collaborative effort.
