The terrestrial isopod Porcellio scaber Latreille 1804 (family Porcellionidae, suborder Oniscidea) is native to and widely distributed over Europe. Althoug many studies have been performed on and with this species, so far no specific genetic markers are available for P. scaber. We created a NGS dataset (paired end Illumina-MiSeq) and developed 8 highly polymorphic microsatellite marker.
