资源简介:
From 2018-07-28 until 2021-09-21, four moorings carrying temperature and salinity instruments were deployed in Yucatan Channel, Mexico. From these, density and geopotential height anomalies were calculated. Here, the across-channel differences of density and geopotential height are reported, which allow calculation of geostrophic currents along the channel. The instruments were deployed at degrees decimal minutes: 21° 33.52’ N, 86° 27.06’ W (decimal degrees: 21.55866 N, -86.45100 W) in about 120 m of water; degrees decimal minutes: 21° 34.81’ N, 86° 20.93’ W (decimal degrees 21.580167 N, -86.348833 W) in about 500 m of water; degrees decimal minutes: 21° 36.98’ N, 86° 13.98’ W (decimal degrees: 21.616333 N, -86.23300 W) in about 1200 m of water; and degrees decimal minutes: 21° 47.07’ N, 85° 11.01’ W (decimal degrees: 21.78450 N, 85.18350 W) in about 1880 m of water. They were deployed and recovered by the R/V Justo Sierra on cruises CANEK-42 and CANEK-48, respectively. Associated data are available in datasets U2.x860.000:0001 (bottom pressure and acoustic vertical round trip travel time differences; doi: 10.7266/VRVK55SR), U2.x860.000:0003 (gridded vertical sections of zonal and meridional velocity components; doi: 10.7266/AK8HHNYX), and U2.x860.000:0004 (ocean volume transport; doi: 10.7266/GBCNGJQF).
