This data was used in Ziegler et al. 2016 Ecological Applications to characterize the amount of lakeshore developement on lakes in Vilas County WI, USA and relate developement to characteristics of walleye populations in those lakes. It was obtained by counting the number of buildings on a lake's shoreline using publically available satelite images accessed through Google Earth.
