Data and R scripts for the journal paper "Evidence for a Prolonged Pre-Domestication Phase: 8000-Year-Old Peach Utilization and Management in the Lower Yangtze"

This repository contains the raw data and R scripts supporting the analyses presented in the manuscript: Lu L., Sun G., Wu Y., Zheng Y., Wasay M.A., He K., Chen G., Wang Y., Wang J., Li X., Zhao K., Zhou X., Liu X., Li X. (2026). Evidence for a Prolonged Pre-Domestication Phase: 8000-Year-Old Peach Utilization and Management in the Lower Yangtze. Journal of Archaeological Science (under review). The dataset includes morphometric measurements of archaeological peach endocarps from the Jingtoushan site and other Neolithic sites in the Lower Yangtze, as well as occurrence records of modern Prunus persica used for ecological niche modeling. The R scripts reproduce the statistical analyses and figures presented in the manuscript, including ANOVA, bootstrapped coefficients of variation (CV), and data sparsification for MaxEnt modeling.
