Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Bedford Road, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, February to March 2022

This collection comprises site images, spreadsheet data, and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation of land at Bedford Road, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. The archaeological intervention was conducted by Cotswold Archaeology between February and March 2022. The evaluation identified furrows associated with medieval and/or early post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation of the site, corresponding with linear anomalies identified by a preceding geophysical survey. Three ditches were recorded during the evaluation that likely represent post-medieval or modern activity on the site, although none correspond with boundaries depicted on historic maps. No evidence of settlement activity was identified and it is suggest that the Site has primarily been used for agricultural purposes since the prehistoric period.
