资源简介:
Intestinal helminths are potent modulators of their host immunity. Possible immunomodulatory mechanisms involve interaction with the intestinal microbiota. Heligmosomoides polygyrus (Hpb) is a parasitic nematode infecting mice. Infective larvae are naturally present in soil and infect mice orally. After a process of maturation involving penetration of the submucosa in the duodenum, the parasite stays in the small intestine to mate and produce eggs that end in the feces. Bacterial 16S rRNA sequencing analysis allows characterization of the Hpb infection associated changes in the intestinal bacterial community.
