Data and Software from: Estimating ecosystem-scale non-structural carbon dynamics in a shortleaf pine forest

This dataset contains field measurements and associated R Markdown analysis code supporting the study “Estimating ecosystem-scale non-structural carbon dynamics in a shortleaf pine forest” (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.agrformet.2026.111574). The measurements were collected at the US-CRK site in Davy Crockett National Forest, Texas, USA. The primary analysis covers 2022–2024 and includes three datasets: 1. Soil respiration: Survey-based measurements of soil CO₂ efflux.2. Fine-root biomass: Fine-root biomass measurements used to estimate fine-root production.3. Stem diameter (DBH): Dendrometer-band measurements used to estimate biomass production. The accompanying R Markdown scripts document data processing and calculations used to derive monthly and annual estimates.
