Maryland Ecosystem Services - Wildlife Habitat and Biodiversity Potential Economic Value - dollars per year

This layer quantifies the yearly economic value of Wildlife Habitat and Biodiversity Potential of forests and wetlands across the state of Maryland. Economic values were calculated based on several factors, including the cost to perservce natural lands paid by Ducks Unlimited, Conservation Fund, and for habitat banking. This service totals $2.6 billion for Maryland yearly, the second highest total found for ecosystem services considered in this study. This data layer was created as part of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources "Accounting for Maryland's Ecosystem Services" program. This is a MD iMAP hosted service.
