The Global Land Cover (LC) Labeled Image Dataset was developed by the Earthshine Foundation to support critical initiatives for agricultural and economic advancement via high-resolution Earth imagery and high-quality land cover classification. This dataset is constructed using public Sentinel-2 data and GlobeLand30 labels, combined with machine learning algorithms and crowdsourcing workflows to enhance classification accuracy. Boasting a wide range of application scenarios including sustainable forestry, urban planning and more, this dataset aims to address land cover classification challenges faced by the global development community, and promote innovation and progress in fields such as agriculture, food security, conservation, and public health.
