The significance of information exchange for better supply chain performance is recognized. This idea is elucidated by supply chain efficiency-improving actions, including integration, collaboration, and fostering flexibility, explored in prior research. However, most conclusions have been drawn from testing isolated positive relationships. This study aims to investigate the comprehensive connections between information exchange, supply chain performance, integration, collaboration, and flexibility. It underscores the role of information exchange in improving efficiency and identifying key performance-enhancing activities. This information aids businesses in making informed decisions about enhancing information-sharing systems and prioritizing supply chain activities to enhance performance. Data from 66 primary studies with 15,679 samples were analyzed using a meta-analytic structural equation modeling approach (MASEM). The results show that collaboration and integration are key to improving supply chain performance, while information sharing, although not directly affecting it, plays a crucial role in enhancing efficiency through collaboration and integration. This research makes a significant contribution by providing a robust demonstration for guiding investment prioritization aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency.
