Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is an indispensable component of healthy living and public health. Individuals reportedly spend around 90% of their time in indoor environments. Indoor spaces can potentially house a wide spectrum of pollutant sources, calling for intensified focus on indoor air quality. The quality of indoor air is not an isolated parameter; instead, it is a consequence of an intricate interaction of numerous variables. These factors include climatic conditions, building location and context, building systems, and human behaviors. The literature review reveals a gap in the understanding of relationships between influential variables of indoor air quality (IAQ) in polluted cities. Thus, it is important to pay more attention to indoor monitoring of exposures to provide a better estimate of individual exposures, investigate the sources of indoor and outdoor air pollution, and identify their impact on IAQ. The present study employed a quantitative research methodology, featuring a dual-phase approach that included air quality measurement and surveys. In the initial measurement phase, primary data were gathered on key air quality variables. Subsequently, the research methodology extended to the survey phase to gather information from residents. This data was used to gain an understanding of household characteristics, ventilation systems, cooking practices, and other potential pollution sources. The research steps of this study involved five main sections: sampling, data collection, data pre-processing, statistical analysis, and results. By employing these steps, including Python for analytical assessments, the study aims to establish results and demonstrate the relationship between IAQ and different variables. This study is motivated by the pressing air quality issues in Pittsburgh, this study seeks to shed light on often overlooked indoor and outdoor pollution sources, providing insights for future architectural designs, urban planning policies, and public health interventions. Additionally, it aims to increase residents' awareness of the impact of their behaviors on indoor environmental quality.
