RNAseq analysis of adult eye specific transcripts in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. Tribolium castaneum strain:GA-1

The molecular mechanisms underlying the perception of light has thus far largely studied in Drosophila. This project uses a differential gene expression analysis approach to define genes that are specifically involved in phototransduction in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. The specific approach consists of comparing the adult head transcriptome of wild-type and eye-depleted animals of the Ey/Es strain.
