3D model of an Arrau Turtle Skeleton (NHMW-ZOO-HS-1904)

<p>3D scan of a skeleton of an Arrau turtle (<em>Podocnemis expansa</em>). Arrau turtles live in the wetland areas of South America and are among the largest freshwater turtles in the world. The skeleton belongs to the Siebenrock collection of the museum.</p><p>Inside the shell the labels tied to the specimen are visible. Important
information about the skeleton is written down on these labels.&nbsp;The original skeleton stands upon a platform with a framework. Both have
been cut out for this 3D model, but the colour of the iron frame is
still visible.&nbsp;</p>
