Extraction of Information from Satellite Images to Estimate Soil and Crops Characteristics Useful for Agricultural Farmers

In this study, we examined the detection of agricultural vegetation, moisture, and crop health status in Limburg and Noord-Brabant, Netherlands, using Sentinel-2 data and drone images from 2021 to 2022. Time-series analysis with NDVI, NDMI, and NDWI indices helped distinguish healthy and unhealthy crops. Results showed an accuracy of 77% when comparing satellite and sensor data, with drone imagery used to further delineate crop health using QGIS. This study provides actionable insights for farmers and agricultural monitoring.Top of Form Bottom of Form
