Health-conscious conduct of the population and attitude to selected
health risk factors.

Topics: satisfaction with leisure time; rough time budget for
weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays specifying contacts; statements about
family climate (scale); degree of perceived stress; use of medication
and semi-luxury foods, tobacco and alcohol in selected problem and
stress situations (scale); conduct in stress situations; attitudes to
smoking habits, weight problems, sleeping pills and tranquilizers, use
of medication, medication to promote achievement, health occupations,
medical check-ups as well as opportunities to organize leisure time
(scale); information on health complaints and subjective assessment of
personal condition of health; perceived stress by problems and feelings
(scale); personal participation in medical check-ups and illnesses thus
discovered; type and regularity of use of medication; purchase of
medication with or without prescription; participation in group meals
and judgement on this canteen fare; eating habits; weight as well as
height; attitudes to various over-weight reducing methods; extent and
reason for use of alcohol; interest in reducing one´s own use of
alcohol; self-assessment of use of alcohol; situations of consciously

The following questions were posed to parents with children: methods
of influencing children to come to abstinence from smoking; fear of
health impairments in the future; age threshold for use of alcohol and
cigarettes as well as treatment with preparations to increase
concentration and achievement, tranquilizers or sleeping pills;
attitude to the model function of parents in the use of such
medications and semi-luxury foods, tobacco and alcohol.

The following question was additionally posed to young people between
the ages of 14 to 18 years: information on model function of parents
with alcohol and use of medication.

children (classified); religious denomination; school education;
occupational position; employment; income; size of household;
composition of household; respondent is head of household;
characteristics of head of household; housing situation; residential
status; party membership; memberships; union membership; participation
in lectures or events in recent time; number of persons in household
with regular income; money at one´s free disposal each month; number of
rooms (excluding bath, toilet, hall, kitchen and storeroom);
satisfaction with size of apartment or house; having a yard; impairment
of residence through noise, automobile emissions, air pollution as well
as perceived impairment through climate or weather.

Interviewer rating: floor on which respondent lives; elevator in
building; type of building in which respondent lives; type of area in
which the building is located.

Also encoded were: district code; Boustedt reference number;
underweight or overweight.
