This data product contains daily aggregated regional altitude (i.e. around 11 km) data from 8 geographical regions visited by the IAGOS fleet. The aggregated data are calculated for the main variables (ozone, carbone monoxide, etc.) observed by the IAGOS instruments during the cruise phase. The data source are the fully calibrated data (i.e. Data Processing Level 2).
Daily regional means are proposed for the following regions:
- WNAm: Western North America ([-125, -105], [40, 60])
- EUS: Eastern United States ([-90, -60], [35, 50])
- NAt: North Atlantic, ([-50, -20], [50, 60])
- Eur: Europe, ([-15, 15], [45, 55])
- WMed: Western Mediterranean basin ([-5, 15], [35, 45])
- MidE: Middle East, ([25, 55], [35, 45])
- Sib: Siberia, ([40, 120], [50, 65])
- NEAs: Northeastern Asia, ([105, 145], [30, 50])
For a given region, the data are averaged at a daily resolution and within three vertical layers:
- UT: Upper Throposphere, defined as the layer between the iso-surface PV=2 +75 hPa and the iso-surface PV=2 +15 hPa
- TPL: Tropopause Layer, defined as the layer between the iso-surface PV=2 +15 hPa and the iso-surface PV=2 -15 hPa
- LS: Lower Straposphere, defined as the layer between the iso-surface PV=2 -45 hPa and the iso-surface PV=2 -150 hPa
