Supplemental Online Content for manuscript: "Lessons in Bias: What Topical Steroid Withdrawal Studies Get Wrong"

These two documents are supplementary files for the manuscript titled "Lessons in Bias: What Topical Steroid Withdrawal Studies Get Wrong."

The first document (Word format) contains the OVID search string, which mirrors that of the systematic review by Hajar T et al. (J Am Acad Dermatol. 2015;72(3):541–549.e2. doi: 10.1016/j.jaad.2014.11.024), updated to reflect the literature up to 2025.

The second document (Excel spreadsheet) lists all original investigations published to date. Systematic reviews and narrative reviews were excluded because they review existing case reports/series and hence risk duplicating results. Surveys are omitted because they are descriptive in nature and are not included within the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM) levels of evidence, which prioritize analytical over descriptive tools.
