A multi-scale story of the diffusion of a new technology: the Web

These are the data files used for the following paper: Tranos, E. (2025) A multi-scale story of the diffusion of a new technology: the Web. Journal of Economic Geogrpahy. In press. The domain_pc_year.csv contains data for 1996-2012 and the domain_pc_year1112.csv for 2011-2012. Each row represents a unique pair of an archived webpage included in the JISC UK Web Domain Dataset (more info on this below) and the postcode found in the web text. It inlcudes information about the actual postcode (column pc), the archival year (year), the domain of the website (domain) and the total number of postcodes included in all webpages under the same domain. In the below example, the first row is a webpage under the example1.co.uk website, which includes the WC1B 4HP postcode in the web text. Rows 2 and 3 represent a webpage under the example2.co.uk website, which contains 2 postcodes, SO23 7ED and BH14 8UB.
