Coccidioides Genomes from Low-Incidence States Reveal Complex Migration History across the Western United States

We sequenced whole genomes of Coccidioides immitis and Coccidioides posadasii, the fungal pathogens that cause Valley fever, an emerging disease in the Americas. Clinical isolates were prospectively collected between January 2023 and November 2024 from patients in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California. This dataset includes 27 newly sequenced isolates from low-incidence states (Utah, Colorado, Nevada) and 22 from California. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina NovaSeq platform (paired-end 150 bp reads).
