Ionosonde dataset of Wuhan Observatory in 1960

In the history of ionospheric observation, vertical ionospheric sounding is a conventional method and still plays an important role in ionospheric monitoring. Wuhan is the first observatory in China to conduct routine vertical ionospheric sounding. The continuous accumulation of vertical ionospheric sounding data has strongly supported the observation and study of regional ionospheric characteristics and propagation of ionospheric disturbances. From 1957 to 1991, automatic vertical sounding of the ionosphere was recorded on films in Wuhan. The digitalized film ionograms and ionospheric characteristics data for the entire year of 1960 are included in this dataset. This dataset can support the study of ionospheric weather and climatology.
