资源简介:
The Didson 3000 SN374 was deployed on 2019-09-16 at Barkley Canyon. Barkley Canyon is a submarine canyon located on the continental shelf and slope break. Features include exposed gas hydrates and their associated ecosystems. Accumulation and movement of sediment, upwelling, and plankton blooms are studied in this area. This device is a Multibeam Non-rotating Sonar. Multibeam non-rotating sonars transmit a pulse at a certain frequency along a number of narrow beams. The sonar processor looks at the return signal for each pulse and decides where along that pulse return time lays the strongest return, giving a single point in space, such as water column depth. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
