VPRS 9696 General Manager's Correspondence Files and Records

The series consists of an accumulation of general correspondence files and other records created or maintained by the General Manager from 1936 to 1990. The series was established around 1975, but includes records created prior to that date and maintained by the General Manager. The series was discontinued on the transfer of Grain Elevators Board functions to VicGrain Limited in 1995.The files contain inward and outward correspondence, reports, contracts and agreements, and registers detailing the role of the General Manager in the administration of the Board, reporting and liaison activities in relation to the Department of Agriculture and other government agencies, and participation in the work of related organisations. Included in the files are records, including minutes, of the Port of Geelong Grain Handling Authority and the Port of Portland Grain Handling Authority on which the General Manager or designate served. The records also contain registers of stockholder loans and contracts maintained by the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
