Raw data exported from the DREAM.3D software from synthetic microstructures created in this project to investigate a stereological method for obtaining grain boundary plane distributions (GBPD) for textured materials. For each synthetic microstructure, the dataset contains planar sections, emulating electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) measurements, which were used for calculating the GBPD using stereology. The dataset also contains triangular meshes of the grain boundary network in 3D, which enabled accessing the ground truth GBPD, without the need for stereology. The data was generated between July 2022 and May 2025.
