Desert recretohalophyte Karelinia caspia has a forage and medical value that is a rare herbaceous species for improvement of saline soil and sand immobilization in northwest China. Previous study showed that leaf salt-secreting was one of the important adaptive strategies in K. caspia withstanding high salinity. However, the molecular basis of above physiological mechanisms remains unknown in K. caspia response to high salinity. Our aim was to investigate its regulatory mechanism of salt tolerance using leaf transcriptomic analysis.
