Transcriptome sequencing of male strobili of Cryptomeria japonica

Transcriptome sequencing of male fertile first generation of selfed progenies of 'Shindai-8' x 'Dewanoyuki-1' was carried out to collect expressed sequences during the pollen development season. 'Shindai-8' is a naturally occurring male-sterile individual found in Niigata Prefecture and carries a male-sterile allele 'ms4' as homozygote. 'Dewanoyuki-1' is a plus tree with resistance to snow damage selected in Yamagata prefecture.
