Images and Site Records from an Archaeological Evaluation and Watching Brief at the Former Royal Doulton Works, Nile Street, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, 2019

This collection comprises images and scanned site records from an an archaeological evaluation and watching brief of a proposed residential development on the site of the former Royal Doulton works, Nile Street, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. Work was carried out between June and October 2019 by Oxford Archaeology. The work comprised six machine-dug trenches, positioned to target elements of the nineteenth- and twentieth-century potteries that had occupied the site. A watching brief was also maintained at specific parts of the site, including in the vicinity of the former Holy Trinity Church.
