MALE CROSSOVER IN MEIOTIC RESEARCH

This is the first study to investigate the relationship between meiotic crossover rates and sperm motility by sequencing single sperm cells from males with normal fertility and those with asthenospermia, a condition marked by reduced motility and fertility. We found a significant association between lower meiotic crossover rates and impaired sperm motility. For the first time, this meiotic phenotype is linked to a pathological condition affecting male fertility, providing new insights into the biological basis of infertility.
