资源简介:
The metoidioplasty and phalloplasty gender-affirming surgeries (MaPGAS) dataset contains mixed-methods data collected to support the development and evaluation of a decision-support intervention for individuals considering surgery. The dataset was generated as part of a multi-site research project examining decision-making processes, patient goals, and outcomes associated with gender-affirming genital surgery among transgender and nonbinary individuals assigned female at birth.

The dataset includes three rounds of a Delphi consensus process conducted with experienced surgeons involved in gender-affirming genital surgery. These rounds were used to identify and prioritize clinically meaningful outcomes and decision-relevant information that should be incorporated into patient-facing decision support tools for MaPGAS procedures.

In addition to provider consensus data, the dataset includes provider feedback on the feasibility and potential implementation of a MaPGAS decision aid within clinical practice. These data capture perspectives from clinicians regarding workflow integration, perceived utility, quality of information on the site, and barriers to adoption in medical settings.

The dataset also includes patient-centered data collected from individuals considering metoidioplasty or phalloplasty. These components consist of usability and acceptability feedback on the MaPGAS decision aid gathered via survey and focus group. There is also structured survey responses; these include measures assessing patient goals for gender-affirming genital surgery, decisional conflict related to surgical decision-making, gender congruence, and quality-of-life outcomes.

Future survey data collected at multiple time points surrounding the surgical consultation to evaluate how decision support may influence patient understanding, preferences, and decision readiness will be deposited after being compiled.
