ARCOQ

ARCOQ is the first dataset of nearest opposite word selection questions for the Arabic language, created by the Department of Computer Engineering at Cairo University. This dataset includes 500 questions, each requiring a system to select the most opposite word to a given query term from a set of candidate words, with the purpose of evaluating system performance in antonym detection. The dataset construction process involved collecting questions from educational exercises, translated GRE questions, and contributions from native Arabic speakers, followed by deduplication and correctness validation. Application domains of the ARCOQ dataset cover sentiment analysis, contradiction detection, question answering systems, and machine translation, aiming to address benchmark tasks for antonym detection.
