Gut microbiota dysbiosis contributes to diabetic nephropathy via affecting renal lipid deposition and inflammatory responses

In this study, streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mouse models and diabetic nephropathy models were employed, with intestinal microbiota from DN patients and healthy donors transplanted respectively. Changes in blood glucose levels, urinary microalbumin, serum creatinine, and other biochemical indicators were measured to assess renal function, while inflammatory markers were used to evaluate renal inflammatory responses. The expression of lipid metabolism-related genes was detected via RT-PCR.
