Lactobacillus delbrueckii Genome sequencing and assembly

This BioProject presents genomic data of Lactobacillus delbrueckii strain ATABAY-TRLd02, a Gram-positive, thermophilic lactic acid bacterium widely used in yogurt and other fermented dairy productions as a starter culture. L. delbrueckii plays a crucial role in lactose fermentation, lactic acid production, and the development of characteristic texture and flavor in dairy products.The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive genomic characterization of strain ATABAY-TRLd02 to support future research on its carbohydrate metabolism, proteolytic systems, stress adaptation mechanisms (including acid and heat tolerance), technological performance in dairy fermentations, and its potential applications in functional foods, starter culture optimization, and probiotic-related biotechnology.
