Comparative transcriptome analysis reveals the mechanisms underlying the adaptation and speciation of Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum species are diverse in ploidy levels as well as phenotypes. In this study, transcriptome of a hexaploid commercial species, C. morifolium was sequenced. As a comparison, a diploid Korean species, C. boreale was also investigated. By molecular, evolutionary and comparative analysis, the mechanisms underying the adaptation and speciation of chrysanthemum was revealed.
