The MovieLens dataset was collected by the GroupLens Research Project at the University of Minnesota.
This dataset includes:
* 100,000 ratings (1-5) from 943 users across 1,682 movies.
* Each user has rated at least 20 movies.
* Simple demographic information of the users, including age, gender, occupation, and zip code.

These data were collected over a seven-month period from September 19, 1997 to April 22, 1998 via the MovieLens website (movielens.umn.edu). This data has been cleaned: users who submitted fewer than 20 ratings or had incomplete demographic information have been removed from this dataset. A detailed description of the data files can be found at the end of this document.

The University of Minnesota and its affiliated researchers make no warranties regarding the correctness of the data, its suitability for any particular purpose, or the validity of results obtained through the use of this dataset.
