资源简介:
This series contains patient statistics for the Royal Children's Hospital. The first volume has statistics for each department of the hospital from 1951 to 1987. Weekly statistics are recorded for casualty, medical, surgical, general clinical, dressings, infections, spastic, baby clinic, psychiatric, masseur or physiotherapist, new cases, renewals, and numbers of male and female cases. Totals are recorded for each month. The annual totals were published in the Royal Children's Hospital Annual Report. Yearly totals were calculated for the period 1st of April to the 31st MarchThe remaining volumes record the daily numbers of occupied beds at each of the hospital branches from 1956 to 1985. There are numbers recorded for male and female admissions, discharges and remaining patients with monthly totals. There are separate columns for each of the former hospital branches (Frankston, Hampton, Sherbrooke, Carlton) until their closures, with the last volume only containing statistics for Parkville. In the heading of each site name, there is a calculation in red, this is the average in-patient total for each month for that particular hospital site. Yearly totals were calculated for the period of the financial year, 1st of July to 30th June. There is a yearly statistic for the total number of cases; this statistic is derived by adding the total number of male and female cases. There is an additional statistic which represents the yearly total number of new casesThe recording of statistics for the period prior to 1951 and post 1987 is subject to further research. The Hampton and Sherbrooke Convalescent Homes were closed on 6th March 1959 and 1st of November 1959 respectively. No statistics are calculated for these sites beyond these dates. The use of these statistics for funding purposes is subject to further research.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 1996/001.
