Contents of iron- and aluminum-bound organic carbon in tropical and subtropical forest soils in China

We collected surface (0–10 cm) and deep (40–50 cm) soil samples at 138 sites along north-south (2000 km) and east-west (1000 km) transects in Ferralsols in tropical and subtropical evergreen broadleaved forests in southern China. The contents of iron- and aluminum-bound organic carbon (Fe/Al-OC) were determined by the Dithionite-Citrate-Bicarbonate (CBD) method.
