资源简介:

This dataset supports the paper "Investigating the use of Landsat-derived Sea Surface Temperatures as a proxy for changes in ocean forcing of Greenland's marine-terminating outlet glaciers", in review at the Journal of Glaciology. It contains a 40-year (1985–2024) time series of plume surface temperatures at Sermeq Kujalleq (Store Glacier), West Greenland, derived from Landsat thermal infrared imagery using a single-channel SST retrieval algorithm optimised for Arctic coastal waters, along with the plume polygons used to extract them. Also included are the libRadtran radiative transfer simulation inputs and outputs used to derive the algorithm coefficients, and the Google Earth Engine-extracted matchups between the Arctic Landsat SST and EasyCORA in-situ surface temperatures used to optimise and validate the retrieval. The deposit is organised into three zip files: Sermeq Kujalleq (Store Glacier) plume surface temperature timeseries.zip contains the per-scene plume surface temperature CSVs and plume polygon GeoJSONs; libradtran_simulations.zip contains the radiative transfer simulation inputs, outputs, and fitted algorithm coefficients; and SST_validation_matchup_data.zip contains the EasyCORA matchup files used to optimise and validate the SST retrieval. The code used to run the libradtran simulations, find matchups between in-situ data and Landsat scenes, and derive the SST retrieval algorithm is available at: "https://github.com/ry-ing/arctic-landsat-sst"
