资源简介:
On October 5, 2004 the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey at the request of the Georgia Division of Natural Resources. Two GPR survey grids were placed in the vicinity of the lighthouse on the south end of Sapelo Island. The goal of the survey was to locate subsurface anorrelies that could be related to the lighthouse keepers residence. A number of anomalies were detected just to the east of the cistern. These anomalies may be cultural and rrey be related to the keepers residence. It is recommended that these anomalies are archaeologically investigated by the excavation of formal test units or by soil probes.
