资源简介:
Whole transcriptome sequencing studies have been done in Vigna mungo for genome-wide identification and characterization of CKXs gene in urdbean (Vigna mungo). Total 30 samples of different growth stages and different tissues of Vigna mungo were used for the present study. Among the phytohormones, cytokinins play a significant role in regulating plant growth and yield. Previous research has shown that cytokinins (CKs) play a significant role in increasing pod number in various crop species. Research suggests that crops have higher levels of CK in reproductive tissues during pod set and seed filling. Therefore, the manipulation of endogenous cytokinin levels has a distinct impact on the development of stress-tolerant crop varieties with optimal root-shoot architecture and high-yield output. Cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKX) (EC: 1.5.99.12) is a critical negative regulator of endogenous cytokinin concentration, as it catalyzes the irreversible degradation of active cytokinins. Therefore, the present investigation aimed to identify the members of the CKX gene family and analyze their properties in the urdbean, including CKXs phylogeny, evolutionary expansion, and expression in various tissues at the different growth stages. Their further analysis will reveal information about CKXs in the urdbean that can be used further for genetic engineering or molecular breeding of urdbean, to mitigate the challenges of different abiotic and biotic stresses and realize their potential yield to meet the demand of the increasing population.
