The study on current questions on climate policy, Focus: Building and Housing was conducted by the opinion research institute Kantar on behalf of the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government. During the survey period 02.11.2022 to 08.11.2022, the German-speaking population aged 14 and over was surveyed in telephone interviews (CATI) on the following topics: attitudes to climate policy with a focus on questions about past and planned energy-related new construction or conversion measures of own houses or condominiums The respondents were selected by a multi-stage random sample within the framework of a multi-topic survey (Emnid bus) including landline and mobile phone numbers (dual-frame sample).<br>Concerns about possible consequences of climate change; assessment of current political measures for climate protection (appropriate, go too far or do not go far enough); preferred fields of action for climate protection (transport and mobility, energy supply, construction, agriculture); ownership of residential property (house, condominium); fundamental renovation or conversion of residential property in the last two years; energy measures carried out (installation of a heat pump, installation of a heating system with biogas, installation of a solar system, installation of new windows with better glazing, improvement of roof or façade insulation); assessment of current federal government subsidy measures for the energy renovation of buildings; planned house construction, renovation or conversion projects in the next two years; planned realization of the following construction measures: Installation of a heat pump, installation of a heating system with biogas, installation of a solar system, installation of new windows with better glazing, improvement of roof or facade insulation; opinion on a future ban on the installation of new gas heating systems.
Demography: sex; age; highest level of education; occupation; household size; number of people in the household aged 14 and over; party preference; voter eligibility; household net income (grouped); survey by mobile or landline.
Additonally coded were: serial respondent number; weighting factor; interview date; city size (BIK city size, political city size); federal state; survey area west/east.
