Oral mucositis microbiome during allogeneic hematopoietic stem-cell transplant

We characterized changes in the oral mucosa microbiota of patients during allo-HSCT. We focused on patients who developed ulcerative oral mucositis. The study includes 30 allo-HSCT recipients, out of which 13 developed ulcerative oral mucositis. Samples were collected at three phases: before the conditioning regimen (preconditioning), at ulcerative oral mucositis onset, and at the day that the oral mucositis was considered to be healed.
