DEREN Convergence 2016

History and Potential of Landscape Conservation in Downeast Region.

Plan to join DEREN, October 4, 2016, for its sixth annual conference dedicated to strengthening and promoting conservation collaborations in Hancock and Washington counties, Maine. CONVERGENCE serves as the annual networking meeting of conservation practitioners, educators, researchers, and managers in eastern Maine.

The focus of this year’s CONVERGENCE will be “History and Potential of Landscape Conservation in Downeast Region.” We will look back into the history of our region to inform the future. We will share stories and lessons from our region. We will work on communication and dialogue skill building so that we can be a more effective part of the community narrative.

We will inform and critique DEREN’s on-going strategic planning process. And, perhaps most importantly, we hope to hear from you all. The stories you share at lunch, the conversations that happen over breaks, the feedback you receive on your talk will all help us to move conservation forward in our precious and vulnerable region of Maine. We hope you will leave Convergence with renewed enthusiasm for this valuable work, enhanced skills, stronger collaborations, and a wealth of new ideas.
