Processed data and intermediate files for: "Reduced precipitation alters microbial availability and redistribution of rhizosphere carbon" This dataset contains processed input data and intermediate analysis files supporting the manuscript. The study examines how 50% precipitation reduction affects rhizodeposit carbon transport and microbial uptake in a Mediterranean annual grassland at Hopland Research and Extension Center, CA, using ¹³CO₂ pulse-labeling with quantitative stable isotope probing (qSIP) across two sampling timepoints (March 12 and April 13, 2020). Files include: phyloseq objects for 16S rRNA and ITS2 amplicon data from SIP-fractionated and unfractionated rhizosphere soil; qSIP output tables of excess atom fraction (EAF) for bacteria and fungi; soil physicochemical data (volumetric water content, gravimetric water content, soil ¹³C atom %, PLFA biomass); plant data (biomass, height, ¹³C IRMS); pressure plate water retention data; GeoChip 5 normalized microarray data; and pre-computed SpiecEasi co-occurrence network objects. Raw 16S rRNA and ITS2 amplicon sequences are deposited in the NCBI Sequence Read Archive under accession PRJNA1435433. All analysis code is available at GitHub.
