Giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) is the largest bony fish that inhabiting coral reefs. Thus, the fish is not only economically important species in marine aquaculture, but an ideal male parent in interspecific crossing of grouper species. In the present study, a high-quality chromosome-level genome of giant grouper was assembled using PacBio sequencing and high-throughput chromatin conformation capture (Hi-C) technology. The whole genome is 1.06 Gb, anchored into 24 chromosomes.
