Whole-exome sequencing data from patients with concurrent benign thyroid goitre (BTG) and papillary thyroid cancer (PTC).. Homo sapiens

Comparison of genetic alterations in a group of patients with BTG and those with PTC has been extensively studied. However, little is known about the genetic profiles in patients with different cytomorphological lesions in their thyroid glands; BTG in one lobe while PTC in another lobe. This intra-patient analysis could offer further insights into the molecular events in tumorigenesis to support findings from the comparison made among different groups of patients.
